David Walton
Partner and Head of Employment

David heads up Primas Law’s employment team, with over 20 years of experience as a specialist employment law solicitor.
Having worked in practices in Manchester and across the North West, David is an experienced litigator and Employment Tribunal advocate, conducting cases across the full range of employment issues, with an exceptional success rate. He also has extensive experience as a corporate employment lawyer, providing support across transactional and commercial work, both from an advisory and a drafting point of view.
David’s day-to-day practice centres on resolving complex internal employment disputes that employers cannot otherwise manage themselves, advising on everyday issues that arise in the workplace, and achieving positive solutions to minimise business disruption and risk. David has particular expertise around TUPE issues, both in advising on situations that are impacted by TUPE, but also in conducting litigation where there is a TUPE dimension.
David also has significant experience advising employees, and his typical instruction now on behalf of an employee would be a senior exit or a high value discrimination case, not least where disability discrimination is involved. In time, David has supported a range of groups and charities where disability discrimination is a common issue, not least involving the impact of a cancer diagnosis in the workplace. David also currently holds the position of Honorary Employment Adviser to the ME Association.
Away from work, David’s passions are music and sport, with a particular interest in the piano, coaching his local girls’ football team and heading for the hills in his beloved Lake District.
