Primas ‘Walk for Autism’

Primas has helped to raise £1,000 for a charity which raises awareness and educates people on autism.

In order to raise funds for Autism Initiatives, the Primas team pledged to walk at least 10,000 steps each day for a week which cumulated in over 700 miles and 1.4 million steps!

We marked the end of the fund-raising week with a weekend walk with the charity across Crosby Beach.

Associate, Beth Wheatley took part in the challenge and said: “After meeting with Autism Initiatives, part of the National Autistic Society, we were inspired to help make a difference”

“I’m pleased to say that all of our team managed to walk 10,000 steps across the week, with the daily walking lunch sessions providing us all with a boost to our step count!

“Autism Initiatives organise vital fundraising treks and walks throughout the year to help supplement the services they provide that are vital to thousands of people. Hopefully our contribution will make a difference and we can continue supporting the charity and the outstanding work that they do.”

Autism is a lifelong disability that affects how people communicate and interact with the world. There are approximately 700,000 autistic adults and children in the UK.
