Primas Law pledges to support a trio of charities this Christmas

For anyone who is able and willing to support local charities and initiatives, I would encourage them to do so. It has been a tough year, and it remains as important as ever to support those less fortunate so we can all enjoy the festive season.

Adam Kerr | Managing Partner

In a year like no other, we at Primas Law all agree that it’s more important than ever to give back and support our local communities.

As a firm, we have identified three local charities that we have pledged to support this festive season by donating £500 each on behalf of the business, with Primas employees encouraged to make any personal donations in addition to this.

Warrington Foodbank

The first, led by our Cheshire office, will be Warrington Foodbank. With the impacts of the pandemic felt by so many this year, users of foodbanks are at an all-time high, so we’re really keen to provide funds to support families in need this Christmas.

Supported by the Trussel Trust, Warrington Foodbank is led by local volunteers. To continue to provide their essential services, they rely heavily on the generosity and goodwill of their community, so we’re confident that our donation will help those people in Warrington who need it most.

If any of our clients or partners would like to donate themselves, there are several drop-off points around the town, including at Morrisons in Stockton Heath, just over the road from our offices. To find out more information and to donate, please visit their website.

Wood Street Mission, Manchester

Our Manchester office selected Wood Street Mission as our second charity this year, to whom we will also be donating £500.

Wood Street Mission is a Manchester-based charity dedicated to helping struggling families; at this time of year, they are on hand to ensure that families across both the city and Salford can have a happy Christmas.

Every year, the charity launches a Christmas Toy Appeal, to ensure every child receives a toy or present for Christmas. Donations can be made in cash, or you can choose to purchase a gift for a specific age group via their Amazon Wish List.

For those who would prefer to make a cash donation, you can do so via this link.

Beechwood Cancer Care Centre

Beechwood Cancer Care is a charity based in Stockport, dedicated to supporting patients, carers and family members who are affected by cancer and other life-limiting illnesses.

One of our clients, John Stevenson of Pareto Financial Planning is a Trustee of the charity and has done incredible work in fundraising to support their life-changing work.

Beechwood relies on the generosity of its community, and we were really pleased to be able to make a donation to help them continue to deliver their incredible work.

To find out more about them, visit their website or donate via their JustGiving page.

Adam Kerr, Managing Partner, said of the donations: “Every year, we usually do several fundraising events to support charities in our local area. Due to the current guidelines, we aren’t able to get together as a team to raise money for a good cause, although the free NHS helpline we set up at the start of the pandemic is being well-utilised.

“Despite this, we knew we wanted to do something to help make sure that struggling families in our local communities in Warrington and Manchester have a happy Christmas.

“As a firm, we’re delighted to be making this donation, and we’re encouraging our team to make personal donations too, which has been met with great enthusiasm. For anyone who is able and willing to support local charities and initiatives, I would encourage them to do so. It has been a tough year, and it remains as important as ever to support those less fortunate so we can all enjoy the festive season.”
