"Thank you to BizWomen for this award recognising the work we are doing through Primas Law and Pregnant and Protected to support women experiencing pregnancy and maternity discrimination."
We are delighted to announce that Employment Partner, Danielle Ayres, has been named the ‘Women in Law Excellence’ winner at the BizWomen Awards 2025.
The awards ceremony took place over the weekend bringing together industry greats from across the UK. After multiple rounds of submissions where the judging panel progressed people based on the quality of their submission, a winner was crowned in each category.
Danielle’s win is a well-deserved acknowledgement of her long-standing work in Employment Law and, in particular, her dedication to pregnancy and maternal rights. For more than a decade she has been a first point of support for women facing pregnancy and maternity discrimination. Through her work at Primas Law and Pregnant and Protected, she has helped thousands of women challenge unfair treatment, understand their rights and find confidence at some of the most difficult moments of their working lives.
Her approach has always been rooted in compassion, clarity and a determination to make workplaces fairer. She has seen the challenges women face when they fall pregnant or return to work, and she has spent years fighting to ensure those experiences do not define or derail careers. That commitment sits at the heart of both her legal work and the wider mission of Pregnant and Protected.
Reflecting on her win, Danielle said:
“I was blown away by the incredible women in that room and moved to tears by some of the speeches. A huge shout out to all of the finalists and congratulations to all of the winners.
Thank you to BizWomen for this award recognising the work we are doing through Primas Law and Pregnant and Protected to support women experiencing pregnancy and maternity discrimination. This one is going to take pride of place in the middle of my Christmas tree for all to see. Women supporting women never gets old.”
Awards are never the aim, but they do help highlight the importance of this work. Pregnancy and maternity discrimination is still far too common, and Danielle’s recognition shines a light on the difference specialist support can make. We are very proud to see her impact acknowledged and remain committed to continuing this work with the same energy and purpose.
Anyone facing issues at work related to pregnancy, maternity or returning to work can contact Danielle and the Pregnant and Protected team for advice and support.
