Celebrating International Day of Charity: The Charities That Matter to Us

Today, 5th September, is International Day of Charity – a day that reminds us why giving back should be woven into the fabric of who we are, not just as individuals, but as a business too.

Here at Primas Law, we’ve always believed that doing well means doing good. So when it came time to choose our Charities of the Year for 2025/26, we put it to the people who matter most – our colleagues, asking them to nominate the causes closest to their hearts as the ones we should be championing.

The results are in, and we couldn’t be prouder to announce that Manchester Mind and Alder Hey Children’s Charity in Liverpool will be our partners for the year ahead, conveniently located near to our two largest offices.

Why These Charities Matter

Manchester Mind are committed to improving the lives of people with mental health needs. Whether it’s providing a listening ear, running support groups, or helping people navigate the maze of mental health services, they’re there when people need them most. In a world where one in four of us will experience mental health challenges, their work is essential.

Alder Hey Children’s Charity is located in Liverpool, supporting one of Europe’s leading children’s hospitals. They fund everything from cutting-edge research to the little touches that make a frightening hospital stay feel a bit less scary for a child and their family. When you see what they do – transforming wards into spaces that feel less clinical and more like home – you understand why they captured our colleagues’ hearts.

What Happens Next

Our Charity Committee is already buzzing with ideas for the months ahead. We’re talking fundraising events, awareness campaigns, and ways to get everyone involved – from our newest trainees to our most senior partners, creating a real impact together as one.

Living Our Purpose

At Primas Law, we exist to make the complex simple and to do business the right way. That philosophy doesn’t stop at the legal work we do – it shapes how we show up in our communities too. Supporting Manchester Mind and Alder Hey isn’t just our corporate responsibility, it’s an extension of who we are and the culture we’ve built together.

We’ve always been a firm that cares – about our clients, our colleagues, and the communities we’re part of. These partnerships give us a chance to turn that care into action.

As we celebrate International Day of Charity today, we’re not just celebrating these two incredible organisations. We’re celebrating the power of coming together, of small actions adding up to something bigger, and of using our success as a platform to lift others up.

Here’s to a year of making a difference, one fundraiser, one conversation, and one act of kindness at a time. Part of our Primas Purpose.
